At Best Deck, we’ve worked hard to establish our renowned reputation for providing stylish, quality, affordable wood composite products. So, we’re extremely proud to announce that we’ve added another stunning product to our respected composite range. In addition to our decking, pergolas, wall cladding, and screens; we’re now also offering beautiful indoor flooring called stone plastic composite (SPC) flooring.
This is advanced flooring technology that combines the strength and durability of stone and recycled plastic with the aesthetic beauty of real wood.
About SPC Flooring
SPC flooring is made up of (among other things) a strong, rigid core board with an aesthetic wear layer fused to its surface. This wear layer is available in several colours with Best Deck:
- Ivory – cool-tone and light, this is timeless and suits most rooms and styles.
- Ash – this is a darker and bolder colour and works well in rooms that can do with a little more drama and intrigue.
- Walnut – still on the darker side, this colour is neutral and easy to integrate into any space.
- Acacia – this has warm honey undertones and is similar to classic wooden floors.
This product is most similar to luxury vinyl floors in terms of its appearance but stands head and shoulders above it in quality and durability.
Advantages of SPC Flooring
Best Deck’s composite flooring combines a number of very important advantages. It is:
- Stylish, strongly resembling real wood.
- Extremely durable.
- Flexible in design and application.
- Affordable, even when compared to far inferior products.
- Simple to install, whether by a contractor or by the homeowner.
- Comfortable underfoot, thanks to our built-in rubber underlay.
- Not noisy to walk on.
- 100% waterproof (making it stunning for kitchens and bathrooms too).
- Easy to clean.
- Beautifully adorned with our elegant finishes.
- Eco-friendly, as it’s manufactured from stone and recycled plastic.
- Resistant to stains and scratches.
- Ideal for indoors and outdoors on covered patios.
- Resistant to bacteria and mould.
It can be used in rooms that have fireplaces or heaters too, testifying to its hardiness.
Styling and Décor for SPC Floors
Keep your space contemporary and inviting by making other design choices that complement your stunning new SPC floors. The colour of your SPC flooring has a huge effect on the look and feel of the entire space. So, decide on the mood and scene you’d like to create before choosing a colour for your flooring.
Elongate the room, giving it an impression of being even bigger than it is, by laying the planks in the same direction as the length of the room (parallel to the longest walls).
Sometimes, contrasts work well. But, generally speaking, try to choose furniture that complements the wood-tone of your flooring. It shouldn’t match the floors exactly, of course. But, dark-wood furniture might not be ideal for the light-coloured SPC floors, for example.
Because this flooring is ideal for the indoors or outdoors, you can consider using it in the lounge or dining room that leads out onto a covered patio with the same flooring. This extends your living and entertainment area significantly and gives the entire space a cohesive look and feel.
Use tasteful rugs on your SPC flooring to create warm centres and stylish focal points for the eye. Remember that rugs should almost always be slightly bigger than you expect so that they look proportional. If you’re using them in a lounge, the front feet of every chair and couch in that space should be on the rug.
