Impressive Best Deck Projects

Steyn City

This massive lifestyle development has been a fantastic one for the Best Deck team. We supplied and installed over 1100 square metres of decking, nearly in excess of 1000 square metres of balustrades and sun screens, and an amazing 1250 square metres of pergolas. Our composite wood was an important part of creating the contemporary, organic look and feel of the estate, and adding to its natural beauty. As one of the largest composite wood projects ever to be awarded in Africa, Best Deck is proud to be such an integral part of it.

Umhlanga Arch

Best Deck was appointed by WBHO to supply top-notch composite wood products for this modern and unique development. We supplied about 1 500 square metres of product in various parts of this R1.3 billion initiative. They were installed by our trusted contractor in KwaZulu-Natal, Design-A-Deck, in the flagship SMG BMW dealership, Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, hotel penthouses, and some of the shared areas (such as the walking paths and meeting areas).

Residential Homes

There have been a number of gorgeous homes and estates that have been graced by the Best Deck touch, with composite wood decking around their pools and fire pits, cantilever pergolas, seating, and even decking that requires unique shaping around custom structures. The Team Behind Best Deck

Owned and managed by Stuart Martin, Best Deck is backed by the best in the industry. We’re also proud to have Justin and Lee-Ann Irvine as our partners at the Cape Town branch. Together, the Best Deck team shares more than a century of experience in the industry, making us exactly the right choice for your composite wood requirements.

History

Best Deck started in a garage in 2015 but steadily grew to a container yard (where our stock was carried in a number of containers), then into a 400 square metre warehouse. It wasn’t long before we expanded into a 650 square metre warehouse, and we’re now in a space of 900 square metres.

In 2015, we had only one type of deck planking (the Gold range) in two colours. The product range has grown astronomically. We now have two deck ranges (Gold and Diamond). Gold is available in four colours and the Diamond range, added in 2018, is available in six colours. We have grown from being a decking company to a company now offering a huge range of composite wood products which include cladding, pergolas, balustrades, and more.

Four years after opening in Johannesburg, we opened the Cape Town branch. Since 2020, we’ve also set up agents in Zimbabwe and Zambia, and we’re now opening a Best Deck branch in Umhlanga, KZN.

Best Deck evolves and grows continually as new products are launched in the industry. We’re an integral part of getting new composite wood products to market, and this is our dedication.

Our own growth meant that we also had the opportunity to grow and empower others into having their own businesses. We offer a turnkey solution, which means we need resources. So, we use this as the platform on which to empower others to work with and for us.

Best Deck started with only three people. Now, we have an additional three in-house office staff (including our own quantity surveyor) as well as a rep on the road. We have three vehicles on the road for deliveries and service calls. Our warehouse staff comprises 12 employees; including drivers, storemen and assistants.

The Future

We advertise on the home channel on DSTV to access Sub-Saharan Africa – a testament to our ongoing expansion.

Our product range is growing further to include internal composite wood flooring (known as Stone Plastic Composite Flooring, or SPC flooring). This product is 100% waterproof and is resistant to high- impact.
